Comfort Joy And The Right Glass

Comfort and joy...this Christmas, that is what I'm going for. I myself don't drink. I never have. My husband doesn't drink often either but he does enjoy a good bottle of something. This is a stocking stuffer that looked cute and rather fun for my husband. The mason jar is heavy and beautiful! Inside contains the ingredients for a few Margarita cocktails. I couldn't resist picking this up for him. I suddenly realized that we have no Margarita glasses so I picked up a couple of glasses as well. The glasses will be part of the gift.
As we were out and about looking around in some shops this caught my husbands eye...

We saw them in two different stores that we were in. My husband loved these! He picked them up and really admired them. I had been wanting to get him a nice bottle of Whisky/Burbon so this is the extra added touch for a terrific gift!
I have decided that having the right glass for the libation, is important to my husband. So, thats what he shall have lol. I found a beautiful, heavy glass beer mug that I bought as well. I suppose I will buy some nice imported beer to accompany that glass. See, I have a theme going this year...
I am almost finished Elfing around as other than these last few things to buy, I am finished!

Huey is still floating around the house...I don't think anyone around here notices lol...

The Christmas Song written by Nat King Cole. Cover arrangement by Tyna J. Metzner
Been busy taking a few for myself! Here is what I came up with and posted to YouTube today. I hope that I'm on the right track...
I'm procrastinating as I should be posting a re-recording of my Silent Lucidity cover for Bandhub. I have a lot to learn about collabs and how to use the Bandhub App... I have people waiting on my track ugh ....
More holiday everything today. I should also ge wrapping... No not rapping lol... I can wrap like no other. Rap, not so much!
I so appreciate these few loyal readers, (you know who you are but I don't lol.)
I hope you are enjoying every min of holiday prep and this wonderful holiday season! Have a great Tuesday!

Morning Cuddles

This kitty was as sweet as can be this morning. It was chilly in the house due to all of the tile we have. She crawled under the covers with me and just smiled. What a precious creature! Cat cuddles are the best!
I wanted to share something fun! A guy from Bandhub Phoenix, contacted me to ask if he could
collaborate on my cover of Silent Lucidity. Jason Christ graciously added a drum track to my YouTube cover. Beside showing me how bad my timing was, it gave me a different perspective on what my music could sound like if I were in a band. I loved it, I had a huge smile on my face! It definitely made me desire more from this music thing I have going. I have often posted here how much it would mean to me to hear my own originals with full accompaniment! I dream of being part of something greater than being the whole enchilada alone...
For what it's worth, I showed my husband this video/ link and his response was true to his thought pattern... He told me my music is annoying, he doesn't want to hear about it unless it's going to make money. He also wasn't crazy about me venturing out to include others, he's sure somehow this can/will become scandalous?! Oh geez..
So, OK to all of that I say,
"Lets Go!"

Here is the link, if you are interested...

Have a great Saturday!

My Worried Mom Heart Is Heart Broken Over Second SVT Episode

I'll Be Home For Christmas written by Bing Crosby. I wrote this particular arrangement of the song...
I
Click on the arrow and it should take you to this YouTube video!
I spent some time today on this old Christmas classic. I am proud of the arrangement. This is complex and rather difficult. Hence the many takes it took to get this upload lol. When I don't play something for awhile, I have to almost rework it lol.  Finding a new take or few chords makes a big difference sometimes. Since I don't read music, most of this has a lot to do with memory... If I lose a chord, I have to try to retrieve the chord by memory and disecting the chord by ear... I suppose anyone that plays by ear, has the same kind of process and or memorizatition. I'm not sure what part of the brain you use but I imagine alot of different neurons are firing all over the place. Add vocals that you are trying to perfect while playing and my neurons are going crazy! You would think this
would make me extremely coordinated right? Lol no, I'm a clutz!

Meanwhile, the rest of my world keeps rotating on it's axis... Zoe had another SVT episode on Monday darn it! The school nurse called to tell me that she was in the office with a racing heart... Like 192 beats per minute high! I raced over to the school expecting to scoop her up and run to an ER. Thank goodness a cold pack applied to her cheek, did the trick in resetting her heart rythum! We were able to escape he ER this time and the whole episode lasted only 10 min this time. I was sad that    she had another episode of this. I was hoping that the SVT was an isolated incident... Awww. So now our reality is that this more than likely will be a thing that we have to deal with at some point.  Now it is a matter of waiting to see how intrusive and uncomfortable this electrical heart issue becomes for my daughter. I had this very talk with her about this. The cardiologist had offered an ablation proceedure should this become a real nuisance. I told her to trust herself to know when and if to have the proceedure. She is level headed and I don't think she will want to put up with this scary, random
with no warning occurence. Pain in the butt to never know when this will occur. I brought her home
with me after the episode was over. Zoe wanted to stay at school and I probably should have allowed that! Next time once it's over, I think I will encourage that she stay. She isn't sick! The last thing that I want is for her to feel fragile. She isn't.  Once it's over, she is fine!
Bless her heart literally! Darn...ugh!
Zoe is pictured here on the left...with her BFF Paige.

Nous Vivons Ensemble written by Gordon Lightfoot

So I did actually take the day to play my keyboard! It was a great day. I polished this up...
Nous Vivons Ensemble
Here is the link... Nous Vivons Ensemble

I played for hours! The whole day just went. I had so much fun! Maybe it was a good thing that I had taken the two week break because it felt so awesome to be back at it!
I'm still wishing for a separate PA system to run my vocals through. I have been running my mic and keyboard, through the same Roland amp. I'm assuming that my vocals could sound better if I had a PA system. I have no idea what I should be looking at. I browsed at Guitar Center the other day. They had a lot of nice systems. If I were gear savvy, I would know what to set my sights on...

I have been asked to join Band Hub. A guy on the Phoenix Band Hub site messaged me on YouTube. He asked if we could colaborate on my cover of Silent Lucidity. That sounds like a blast! I briefly looked at the site on my computer but I haven't figured out how to get set up... I suppose that will be something to look into today!

I also was asked to do a vocal track on an original that someone wrote. Thrilled to be getting into a new avenue of music sharing!

Still working on decking the halls! I think we have three more days of getting Christmas up. The multicolor Edison lights will take an afternoon. I forsee the train table being a days work for Howard...setting up the train village and getting the train and mountain just right takes time... The front yard tree will be wrapped and lights will be woven into the tree... So all in all, a lot of decorating remains.

I am going to take some of today to work on some music as I have not been lately. Serious keyboard withdrawl... I have hopes of pulling a Christmas cover together. I'm late! It cracks me up that My Christmas cover of " So This Is Christmas ", from last year ,continues to get a lot of plays every day! By far one of my most played songs to date... I wonder why seriously...?

I am always hoping to come up with the magic formula for a song that tips me over the edge into something more than nothing...
So, I wrote this, the lyric, true to my life story at present! Always searching to find my own niche in music history lol...
Forever wanting to prove to myself and nameless others,  that I am a successful person in my own right... ( I have yet to accomplish this )... So far, the naysayers are winning...

So what does this all boil down to? So far, just a yearning burning passion for creating and executing
musical content. I have a YouTube Channel and a SoundCloud channel with my catalog of music on
display...
Look me up under Tyna J. Metzner

When was the last time you heard of a middle aged housewife starting a music career and making it? Don't say never....never say never!

My AZ Winter Wonderland The Home Edition

Just like so many of you, I am decking my halls this weekend. Yesterday was full of yard work in preparation for our outdoor display. We brought our tree in last night. We decorated and decorated! It takes hours to decorate for Christmas here. Days really, it's a process. Today we will be venturing outside to try to get as much as we can accomplished.
Here are a few photos that I took this morning.

Kitchen

Family Room

Candy Village

Garlands...

Homemade wreaths that I made last year.

Angel wreath

(It's always 5:00 at my house lol)
And lastly but not leastly...

Lots of priceless treasures that I enjoy touching and looking at every year. We still have a lot of decorating left to do! The train village needs to go up inside. Also, both the back and front yard need to be done... It's a process every year. I really enjoy all of it! I like turning this little 1700 square foot house into a Christmas wonderland...
