Covering My Authentic Incredible Idol

Two Of Us- Written by Roger Hodgson formerly of Supertramp. This, is my cover.

I still have hope that I will one day meet this amazing songwriter! I can’t tell you the number of posts I’ve written that feature my adoration for the brilliance and gifted talent this man exude. Words can’t express how his songs touch my heart. This song is no exception! It’s so sweet,humble and unpretentious. I can envision Roger all alone in the wilderness strumming a guitar and singing this. His closeness to a higher power, “God” is so obvious in his songs. Chords, vocals and the tugging at heartstrings through his music is his gift.

I interpreted this cover, on my keyboard in a Grand Piano Voice. The vocals like many Roger Hodgson vocals are unique to him. Trying to cover/ copy his vocal styling is difficult at best. Although, I’m sure that his authentic sound is indigenous to only his creations. I hope that I can at least offer a heartfelt attempt to convey the sweetness of the original. 

I have no clue what I could possibly say to this artist that hasn’t already been said to him? Imagine hearing people tell you the most wonderful heartfelt things about your music every day? Well, I suppose echoing back a song isn’t appreciated? It is however etched in my heart and so, I shall try. I think I would like to dwell in just being in his presence for a min. Even if only in my mind… 

Never give up on your dreams no matter how ridiculous they may seem. When you set about the process of living out your dreams, you become your authentic self! When you dare to dream, you set in motion a chain reaction of inner peace and happiness. Even if your dreams are never realized, your effort is perceived by your inner self as being genuine and authentic. It will make your soul smile!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Mine starts out with yet another Thunder girls lacrosse game. Zoe only has a few more games left of the lacrosse season. She has done well and really loves it! This is her second year. Next year she may move up to varsity!

This has been a busy season with practices and games 2-3 of them per week. All over Phoenix!

Pickle Ball Inspiration

Omelette with onions, garlic and salsa. This was dinner last night and it was delicious!

I have been playing pickle ball with some ladies that I adore for the past month. It’s great to get out and be physical with friends. I’m used to walk/ jogging by myself. I have played tennis in the past and although I haven’t played in a long while, I can see that if I put some effort there, I could be a decent tennis player. I am learning the game of Pickle Ball which is different from tennis in ways but it involves hitting a ball with a racquet . Fun, you bet! Loving every minute of it. …

Zoe playing lacrosse in a game yesterday. She just happened to get the ball and I snapped a pic.

This will give Zoe leadership opportunity that will help her on a college application. Not to mention a personally enriching experience I bet. Thrilled for her to have this opportunity!

Plenty is going on here but I took an afternoon yesterday to have some me time!

This pie has molasses in it and it caramelized. It tastes like pumpkin flan lol. It tastes better than it looks…

One of my grown daughters was extremely ill a few days ago. Diagnosed with pneumonia after having the flu last week. She never gets sick like this so I decided to make a big couple of pots of soup. Chicken, barley and a ton of different vegetables went into this soup. Loaded with vitamins and some protein I wanted to make a hot meal that I thought might help her recover.

I was pretty worried when I saw this!

She had just gotten back from the Dr. with a bunch of meds she was preparing to take when she sent me this pic! I’m glad to say that the meds kicked in quickly and she is doing and feeling a whole lot better! Scary!

Anyway, I bought a nice loaf of crusty bread and boiled some wide egg noodles for options to go with the soup. Delcee really appreciated the soup. She kept telling me how it really helped. I think she really appreciated being able to have a cooked meal for her kids to eat that she didn’t have to worry about making. That was my hope anyway…

Home improvement is always ongoing. The joys of home ownership. We have had the drapes for about 3 months but we didn’t have time to put them up. Finally got around to covering these new windows which are 18 months old now lol. Like a herd of turtles…

I am thrilled with the outcome!

I had these other panels that I bought a few years ago. I thought I would try to sell them but instead I decided to hang them in the dining room. A mini make-over in my entire front room. I’m loving them as well! 

Yesterday was our first 100 degree day of this year. 100 degrees on April 10! What will summer be like, that’s a little concerning lol. Today won’t be that warm here in Phoenix. Maybe just 95… Already getting hot!

Pop Goes The Silestone Home Depot Stand By Me

From washing the dog to dealing with a countertop crack, this has been my week.

When this crack to my Silestone happened, it was spontaneous and so loud! It made popping noises as if it was going to explode! I had no idea what was happening in my kitchen. Several loud pops so loud that my my dog ran out the doggy door and wouldn’t come back in for quite awhile! After 3-4 of these loud pops I also ran for the door as I had no clue what was happening or where it was coming from! When I braved investigating I realized it was my Silestone countertop had cracked. Almost all the way across! Ugh!!!! I purchased this product 13 years ago. When I bought the house, I had the countertops upgraded to this Silestone. This crack is on my on my small island. Needless to say I’m not thrilled with this product. The 25 year warrantee is a joke. Anything and everything that could happen to the product is NOT covered including cracks. I contacted Home Depot as I purchased it there and their installers installed it. The representative there is at least interested in seeing my photos and contacting the manufacturer to see if anything can be done? I bet I’m just out a countertop lol. Ugh… Don’t buy Silestone!!!! This, could happen to you.

On a lighter note, the weather in Phoenix has been beautiful in the mornings. Hot!, in the afternoon. Gone are the cool temps. Mornings are still nice though. I did a lot of yard clean up and planted some wildflower seeds in my tree ring pictured here.
