I’m thrilled with the musical day that I had today! I learned a new version of the Cover I’ve recently fallen in love with! It has been a fun challenge to work and rework this Cover song. I stumbled upon it on YouTube. For whatever reason, I had never heard the song before. Beautiful music that is Roger Hodgson’s signature style, was a really fun way to spend my morning today. His music is so complex and sometimes a real big challenge to Cover. Maybe that is partly why I’m so fascinated to try!
I worked on learning these Covers today. Because I play by ear, I have to play through some chord options to find the one I feel fits best. Most of this came to me without issue. The inflection and accents may need some fine tuning… I had a great time with this as the music is incredibly beautiful. He is an amazing songwriter/composer that I feel musically in tune with. His songs are always a challenge and after I get them in my head, I feel I’ve thoroughly visited them. I have yet to meet this amazing man. Maybe, it’s just as well. A meet and greet VIP pass would only leave me feeling empty. They are a quick smile and picture snap then it’s on to the next person.
Maybe, it’s enough to feel the music come through my fingertips. Sometimes I feel as though I took a little bit of his amazing spirit and music in. Regardless, it’s always a nice day when I have the time to learn a new song!
The Sky was dark and the moon faded behind the clouds and then disappeared this morning. I was able to capture this moment just before cloud cover overtook the moon. My tree is in full bloom now. It was about a week behind in blooming. I think it’s beautiful! On a much lighter note, daughters Zoe and Britt took a cooking decorating class on Saturday. They had an amazing time and came away with the most beautiful cookies! Way too pretty to eat… Valentines Day Cookie Decor lol…

I created this track earlier in the week. I think it speaks volumes about people and our social structure. The things George Michael speaks about in this song are happening still. Only the players have changed… Today, it can be taken more about politics and the country.
We are all just by standers watching the two polar political parties throttle each other. Greed, power and egos all going at it… Even the average person seems to feel entitled to have a strong opinion and plenty to say to those who have an opposing view. So sad! Breaks my heart to see what is coming of our torn up government!
All of the disrespectful behavior back and forth being flung at each other. Literally tearing up and at each other! Acting like spoiled undisciplined savages. Making a mockery out of our constitution and the civility of our judicial system. How are we to be respected by other countries if we attack our own governmental entities, infrastructure and elected officials? I’m embarrassed by the infighting!
Whatever good that has been accomplished, is overshadowed by power hungry, hate mongers who insist on perpetuating division and hostility to the core of their sanity! It embarrasses me that our country has succumbed to allowing the trashy, indignant brawling, between the two political parties.
I’m don’t know you but I’m feeling pretty vulnerable and uneasy. Regardless of your political affiliation, surely you must feel that you can’t trust the government to be overseeing much!
We are all let out to play while they bicker amongst each other… Holy hell! Who’s tending the till?
