Angels And Witches Are Upon Me

Angels And Witches Are Upon Me

image
I had a most interesting experience. It must have been just the right combination of candle shape and the placement of polka dots… The way the light shadows and refracts on my bathroom backsplash… Reasonable explanations for this to occur I’m sure. Still, it was just enough “mysterious”,to be enchanting… It looked as if three Angel  faces with wings were present.

The faces were almost recognizable. They reminded me of my grown children’s faces…Needless to say this candlelight bath, was heavenly. Maybe even heaven sent lol. I marveled at this image upon the backsplash for a long time.

Earlier in the day I decorated the house with my Halloween treasures. I have a collection of witches. I love to bring them out.
I Put A Spell On You

Daughter Britt brought these lovely Sunflowers to me for Grandparents Day yesterday. Bless her heart, she is the only person that I know to celebrate and recognize that holiday. When I mentioned that to her, she reminded me that she had worked for Hallmark. Cute and true, she did.

We had fun decorating…this sweetie was on my heels all day helping, admiring and putting in her two cents. She enjoyed this project, especially the Halloween Village.

Career Homemaking To Money Making Propositions

Career Homemaking To Money Making Propositions

My adoption of this sweet gal is moving right along. She is in kindergarten and learning about how to be a student.  It’s wonderful to be able to give her a chance at a good life. A total change for her. We keep a pretty tight schedule that she seems to really appreciate. She hugs me and says, “thanks Gram for my school”. She loves her school! I was so hoping that she would. I’m thrilled to be able to give her an opportunity in a terrific school district.I took these pics this morning.

She even has a good friend to cuddle with. Twinkle is a great cat! Such a love. I have enjoyed watching her adapt and grow in her new life circumstance. It has been good to be home to help with the settling in process. I am however, actively seeking employment now.  Life for all of us will be changing yet again when I am  gainfully employed…
Career Homemaking has been fun but now, I’m resolved to get a paying job lol…

Fall Flavors Putting The Spice In Life And My Cake

Fall Flavors Put The Spice In Life And In My Cake

Feeling domestic on this damp, rainy day here in Phoenix. I have been craving the flavors of fall. I decided that today would be a good day to bake a cake. I bought a boxed Betty Crocker Spice cake mix. I made the cake per the instructions. I am choosing to make a homemade cream cheese frosting to complement this flavor. I am making Martha Stewart’s cream cheese frosting that I found on the web.
What makes Martha’s so incredibly delicious is simply this… She uses an 8 oz. pkg. of cream cheese. 1 stick of butter (room temperature), only 1 cup of powdered sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla folded in at the end. This frosting is rich and luscious but not too sweet! Most frosting recipes call for 3 cups of powdered, confectioners sugar! I am in love with the subtle sweetness and creamy/spreadable consistency. The cream cheese flavor is still prevalent as well. I can’t  wait until my cake is cool enough to frost it!
Tick
Tock
Goes the clock……………..

Quicker cooling…put each layer into separate zip lock bags, do not seal. Put layers into the freezer for about an hour…

Tick
Tock
Goes the clock…
while the cake is cooling, here is my kind of spice of life… Escape -The Time Is Here. My original written while daydreaming … maybe I should write sappy romance novels? Sappy, spicy and full of big dreams, a romantic at heart.
Oh yes, back to my cake…
Try as I might, I’m no cake decorator! This will have to do, it tastes good for sure, I took a taste of the frosting off of my spreader when I was finished!
I like to decorate with candy corn and chocolate sprinkles. Happy prelude to fall!

Playing House Chicken Chicken Finger Lickin

Playing House Chicken Chicken Finger Lickin

img_4864
I made my own creation, “Chicken Casserole ” yesterday. We eat early so I started this around 2:00 pm.  I season my chicken with salt, pepper and Hungarian paprika.I started by partially cooking the chicken thighs for about a half hour. Turning often…
I boiled a package of wide egg noodles while I was cooking the chicken. Only till they were soft, not mushy. They cook more in the oven so I didn’t want to over cook them.
I sautéed a whole sweet onion, (thinly sliced) with diced shallots and a package of mushrooms that I sliced. I added a healthy sprinkle of garlic powder.
I sprayed my Temp-tations 13X9 in baker with cooking spray. I made a bed of noodles using half of my noodles. I poured half of my sauté on top of the noodles. I sprinkled a genorus amount of French’s Fried Onions on top.

I poured 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup with 3/4 can of milk, (each can) together. Stired in some frozen peas. Added the other half of the noodles and sauté. Salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasoning to taste. I strained the noodle and arranged the sauté on top of the fried onion…reserving enough sauce to drizzle on top my chicken.

Topped my dish with the partially cooked chicken. A few more peas, lol (I like them). Pour the reserved sauce on top. Sprinkle a little more Paprika… Bake  cover for 45 min @375 degrees. Top with French’s Fried Onion last 10 min.

Back into the oven for 10 min…

Yum!!!! I served this with a bowl full of fresh corn on the cob…I really enjoyed this creation! My family seemed to as well. I will make this again!

I've been a stay at home Mom for many years...Have earned a PhD in life experience. My oldest is 30 and my youngest is 13. On a quest to see all that I can be now. I am a musician, singer/ songwriter. In the process of trying to become marketable. Would love to make money doing what I love! I love to do many domestic things also. Nothing I do seems to be profitable. Guess I am at a point in life that I would like to be compensated . My whole life I have given freely. Now, show me my money making niche. Still in the process of figuring that out.

Warm And Fuzzy Moments Making Memories

Warm And Fuzzy Moments Making Memories

Happy Labor Day! Although this is the last hoorrah of summer for most of the country, we will have temps well above 100 for the next few months. I still adhere to September being the start of fall…

I made a power brunch yesterday that fueled us for most of the day. We went shopping together and had the most wonderful day just traipsing around the mall. Zoe loves this giant bear… She is taken with the enormity of him. This was taken at a local Costco. I have no idea where we would put this in her tiny room so, No lol…

Amelia Rose had an amazing experience in Build -A- Bear. The look on her face says it all! My adoption process of Amelia is moving along. I have not heard when the final court hearing date will actually be. She was able to name her bear as well. She chose the name Daisy. It is a beautiful “Frozen” bear with a teal sparkly dress…

Sweet as can be! This was her first time building a stuffty. Pure joy!
We bought a backpack for her bear and she packed it around on her back all day!

“Daisy”
I’m glad that took the time to do this experience, I hope it will remind her of her own adoption process. New life, new name… She helped me pick her new name as well. We spent a few days deciding. We came up with, Amelia Rose.
The video above, I put together to kind of chronical the way in which she came to us and in getting her life set up in her new life here. Her G.A.L (attorney) makes a cameo appearance in the yard with Amelia. What a caring attorney she really is!

The 22 Day Veterans Suicide Awareness Push-Up Challenge

The 22 Day Veterans Suicide Awareness Push-Up Challenge

The 22 Day Veterans Suicide Awareness Push-Up Challenge is happening on Facebook right now. Daughter Delcee nominated me to do the 22 day challenge.
I know it’s girlie as hell but I am proud to support awareness for our vets!! My nominee today is my mom!! Tyna J. Metzner
Join the challenge!
Day 1 of the 22 push-up challenge completed with some push-ups. There are 22 veterans a day committing suicide and this is a small way to raise awareness for that issue. This is your official nomination. You start tomorrow. The rules are simple:* Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day.* Everyday you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Try your best to reach 22.* Everyday you must nominate a different person.* And finally have fun with this. This is a simple and fun way to get the word out about a matter that more people need to be aware of. These brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms and it’s sad that so many veterans feel that suicide is the only way out.
So very sad! Surely not a fitting end for the men and women who serve our country! More needs to be done in screening and    with follow up reintegration! Hugs to all who serve!
I nominated a highschool gal friend of mine for my first nominee, she seems to be up for the challenge! Maybe I will be in better shape after the 22 days? One could hope…

Musical Endeavors And Cleaning Houses

Musical Endeavors And Cleaning Houses

I took a day to play yesterday. I incorporated the lyrics to a song that I have always played as an instrumental. I have for many years, played Us And Them, on a piano. Yesterday, I made an attempt to add the lyrics. I’m no David Gilmour but, I had fun with this… It was a challenge that I really enjoyed because it’s multi-tasking brain work. Try singing and playing at the same time lol. Especially while trying to memorize unfamiliar lyrics… It was an awesome day to myself. I feel rejuvenated and artistically fulfilled. Filled the tank!
I also revisited my cover of Fool’s Overture. Roger Hodgson, the songwriter is coming to Phoenix on Dec.2nd. He happens to be my idol. It is a bucket list dream of mine to meet him. I’m hoping that I get to! I’m not in a position to spend a lot of money on V.I.P. or Soundcheck packages… I am purchasing 2 tickets, one of which is for my oldest daughter who is attending the concert with me. I’m trying to acquire a couple of Meet&Greet passes through the radio station that is promoting the event. So far no response. I really hope that I can meet this musical genius! It would mean the world to me!
I made some extra money helping a friend who was moving out of his rented home. I spent the day cleaning this large rental. The most interesting part of this project was cleaning the oven without oven cleaner. He didn’t want to mess with the toxicity and lengthy mess. I found and used Brillo Pads to clean the oven and they worked pretty well!
I spot cleaned all of the carpets, cleaned all of the baseboards, wiped down walls, cabinets, drawers. Vacuumed every piece of carpeting  including all of the stairs… You get the picture. It was a good day! It was however sad to say goodbye to this man, a good friend of mine! My next door neighbor will be missed tremendously!

I leave you with this… This, has to be the most interesting and the nicest comment I have received regarding my YouTube music…This was so nice to hear! I feel honored!
