Soul Searching An Upward Climb

In a pursuit for personal fitness. I have been pretty good about jog/walking the past 10 years I guess. The summers are impossible to navigate the heat so maybe not so much for a few months. I am however persistent if not consistent. I have found the toughest workout has been hiking. I went hiking the other day with some sweet ladies who thought to include me. I loved the feeling I had when I finished but it was an intense uphill climb! 35 floors up lol! Only 2.7 miles but quite a pump up! Today, I tackled a long hill by my house on a route that takes me exactly 3 miles round trip.IAnyway, you can see that I am in pursuit of feeling fit.
I suppose making and eating some of this isn’t the best way to support my efforts but oh well lol. I made a homemade Blueberry Pie just because the other day. Two of my G-girls were recognized in a school award program that I attended. Here they are sporting their achievement certificates!
Amelia has come a long way in overcoming her tough beginning. She is still learning to navigate the changes in her life since I adopted her a year and a half ago. She is enjoying school and learning although reading doesn’t come easy to her. I hope that with practice and patience, she will acquire enjoyment of reading. I am so proud of her winning attitude and fortitude to try. She is the first to try new things as well. She is an amazing person!
Music has eluded me this week although I have listened to some of favorite artists.
Hide In Your Shell is my Roger Hodgson cover. I think that this ties in well with my personal feelings and thoughts this week. I have been doing a lot of soul searching regarding religious affiliation!

Words Can Only Say So Much Praying For Time

A dear friend recently lost her son. He died suddenly of a heart attack. The day after he died, she received a beautiful letter from him. She said she knows that was all Gods doing. It is a treasured letter she says. She also reaffirmed to me that “tomorrow isn’t promised to us”. He died peacefully in his sleep... he was only 42 years old.  He actually died back in September but they just held the service for him a few days ago. In lieu of flowers, I sent to her one of these. I hope it helps to give her piece and some solace somehow... my heart aches as a Mom for her suffering. The loss of a child has to be layered with extra grief... I don’t want to ever know that pain first hand. I couldn’t think of many words to say to her to help her with the grief... All that I could really say is I love you and I’m here if you ever want to talk.

I guess we all find ourselves “Praying For Time”

Today is the celebration of Martin Luther King ... I suppose that this fits in as well. Have a terrific day my readers!

Escaping Homemaking And The Waffles I Need To Make

Although it's been a long time since I blogged here, I'm still here and creating! I’m composing... Writing songs and wishing I could record my music in a professional studio. Still a huge dream of mine... Here are a few links that I haven’t blogged about. All are my originals...
“Escape”

“Something More”

“Face 2 Face”

Something More (piano and contrabass composition) thx iMovie!

Lost In The Game

I have had a lot of fun putting iMovies together with my original SoundCloud tracks and family photos.
I hope to write more songs this year. Last year I kind of got grounded in contemporary classical style of composing. I hope to change that this year as it didn’t seem to be widely enjoyed. I just kept building and building upon an intro, until it became my “Escape”. Lol funny how songwriting will just take you to a style/ genre. I hope personally to have exhausted that lol...
I’m still a homemaker with big dreams...
I still wish to meet Roger Hodgson and or Rick Davies of Supertramp one day... They have been my biggest influence in “ my” music. Many hours of enjoyment via listening to Supertramp in awe... Roger Hodgson and his band a phenomenal and still touring. I’ve had the great pleasure of seeing them twice in concert here in Phoenix.
I hope to be able to see Roger again one day...
Happy New Year to all of you, if I have any readers left after such a long hiatus! Love ya and I appreciate your time and support!
By the way, please subscribe to my YouTube channel, here’s the link!

A Super Hero Birthday Executed By My Super Hero Daughter

A Super Hero BDay Executed By My Super Hero Daughter

It's HOT and and it's difficult to get motivated in Phoenix. So much time spent trying to dodge the heat! Still things must get done! It finally rained here in our little suburb of Ahwatukee. The monsoon storms elude us for the most part here due to South Mountain. They usually skirt this area we have cloud cover with no action. It was nice to hear the downpour and rolling thunder in the distance! I took a two mile walk/ jog this morning. It was getting too hot… 91 degrees with a bunch of humidity so I came home at the 2mi. mark.
The kids are off to school, I've done my grocery shopping and plan to spend some of my day gathering yard clippings, boxes and misc junk from around the yard for our bulk trash pickup next week. The city of Phoenix schedules these quarterly misc trash pickups. I always have things to put out…
This weekend was a mixed bag of crazy… my G-Son Aaron turned 5. My daughter had a wonderful party for him with lots of his neighborhood friends and cousins. My Amelia included.

Plenty of activity and noise for one evening… Amelia and Kadee. Both are my G-Daughters.

It was nice to celebrate with them though! A good time was had by all as my daughter always does a great job with party planning and kid activities! She had a decoupage craft for them all to do that was the party favor. She bought big letters with the first letter in each child's name in attendance. They cut out super hero wrapping paper and decoupaged the paper onto the letter! Here is Amelia's finished project.
I thought this was a very special party favor! They have the memory of making this craft project as well!
My daughter also made a replica of a super hero shield out of berries lol…it was so pretty!

My gosh she put effort and work into this party! I wonder where she gets it from, lol… The cake was adorable, a Costco cake. Delicious as well with plenty to feed her large crowd and a lot, left over!

A great success! Way to go Brittany Paige! She is amazing!
A "Super Hero" Birthday executed by my Super Hero daughter! Britt works full time as the head secretary for a charter high school and, has a part time job as well. She is attending W.P. Carey Business school online at ASU! She will be graduating next year with a Bachelors Degree. Her kids are all doing well in school, I couldn't be more proud of this gal!
Here is a family slideshow set to my cover of Tender Years…

SOMETHING MORE THAN NOTHING- Tyna J. Metzner
I have work to do so just #signme so I can get to it already… lol!
No kidding, I want so very much to accomplish something with my music! I would love to contribute to music history!

Thanks for sharing and supporting my musical journey. I wish to help change the music industry stereo type! Age has no bearing on talent and appeal. Music, is subjective and thank goodness, we have plenty of music to choose from! Even suburban housewives can become rock Stars… Let's show em!!!!

An A For Effort And A Little Silent Lucidity

An A For Effort And A Little Silent Lucidity

This was taken during our Sunday brunch last Sunday. As you can see, Amelia was quite taken with her A pancake. We enjoyed making this huge breakfast on the new grill. We would use the grill more if It weren't blazing hot here in the summer…

Plenty is always evolving to do. Today, I find myself deep cleaning. It's funny the chores you can put off because the weather is too hot! I think we all kind of shut down in the stifling heat here! I have been generating music all week! Now that the kids are in school, I'm back at this!

This is how I started off my week, with some Silent Lucidity! I actually only had Tuesday and Wednesday to work on these. My husband is using up vacation time as it is nearly the new fiscal year and his vacation time doesn't roll over into the next year. Having to prepare meals, clean up after meals, do all of the chores, manage the kids and my first graders homework, showers, laundry, the cat litter box… lol you get the idea. It's a wonder I could sneak theses in on my channel!
