A Blog about life and living through my life experience and perspective. I am a writer, singer/songwriter childhood savant musician...Trying to find my niche and stake my place in society...
My 11 year old decided that my video needed some sparkle, a cat and some magic… lol she edited my video and low and behold it didn’t go over well. The Disney Dazzle fell flat. My video views in comparison to hers are so low. She has her own style and her audience loves her! She has found her niche and is extremely creative! It amazes me how kids can navigate social media so well. She has an odd skill set but it’s working for her on TikTok! Me, not so much! I can see that people aren’t interested in my kind of videos…. Awwww! Oh well.
I had the house to myself for a couple of hours. A very rare occurrence! I couldn’t resist the opportunity to make some noise! It was a real treat for me and I felt terrific getting my groove on…
I’m happiest when I’m in creator mode. Creating anything from music to something decorative. Even baking can simulate that creator mode for me.
I put together a video with some of my baking creations over the years. A slideshow set to cover music that I’ve created, Only Because Of You & Lord Is It Mine, written by Roger Hodgson.
I recently joined the Tik Tok revolution. It’s fun and carefree atmosphere has many engrossed in hours of mindlessness. I’m no exception, I admit losing an hour or two to the platform π. I decided to try my hand at being a creator there. Please find me!
A little of this and that. Enough to embarrass the heck out of my kids and G-kids. Lol I’ve been the joke and probably embarrassment of the decade to my family. Posting my music all over social media! I can literally see the eye rolls in my minds eye now π€£.
I have never been able to get very far with any of my dreams. My thought is at least I have acknowledged to myself that I have some. I’ve chased them on YouTube and SoundCloud. Without my dreams, I’d have been swallowed up by the endless nothingness that comes with being a caregiver. When you give a lot of your time to people, you need a creative outlet. A place where you can be authentic you. Something that gives you individuality and makes you feel visible. Other wise, you feel swallowed up! Find a place where you can be authentic!
Social media has given people a sense of reaching out and a place for self expression. Platforms to find like minded people, interests and something to relate to! I’ve appreciated this aspect of putting myself out there. Giving yourself a voice is good for your mental health! As long as you don’t have an expectation of actually getting anything back…
Some people have all the luck and the right niche to be successful on social media. Most of us just want to be. I’m in that category. Self expression has been enough though. Platforms in which to place my creative energy, thanks #YouTube and #SoundCloud!

Easter Dinner at my house is tomorrow evening… I’ve been busy preparing today.
Celebrating early this year. I made a cake for a family gathering for tomorrow. It is a Coconut Cake with Buttercream Frosting and sliced almonds.
Having an early get together as two of my grown daughters are working on Easter Sunday.
I’ve been wanting to try this cake mix. Dolly Parton is a sweet and savvy business woman. I’m hoping the cake lives up to her standard. Her brand is wholesome is good so I have hope for her cake mix! The batter looked amazing. Light and fluffy! I made a 3- layer cake. I happen to like 3 layers with frosting in between. I used a fluffy vanilla frosting between the layers. The decorating was simple this year… I’m no pro, that’s obvious. I do however absolutely love to bake cakes for my guests and family get togethers. I made deviled eggs to go along with my Ham Dinner. Orange Jello with diced peaches-
Easter Dinner- Brown Sugar Glazed Ham- Deviled Eggs- Mashed Gold Potatoes- Orange Jello w/diced peaches- Steamed Broccoli with Hollandaise Sauce- Blueberry Muffins and Baked Dinner Rolls-
I have a lot of cooking tomorrow yet to do. I’m glad I made my cake today as well as the jello and Deviled Eggs. Less work for tomorrow!
My good friends and I celebrated a gal who has been a true friend to me in good times and in bad. Her birthday was an awesome reason to get together! We had a very nice lunch. A woman who has been my friend for about 18 years, hosted our get together. I was asked to put together and bring a pasta salad. I haven’t made a large gathering dish for a while! This was the first get together we have had in two years. Covid has kept many from getting together to celebrate things. I am so glad that we did! It was great to see these good friends. We even made a craft together. An Easter Bunny decoration that will remind me every Easter, of my friends.
As anyone who cooks probably knows, a pasta salad is an easy recipe. Cutting everything in nice pieces takes the bulk of the time. I took some pics of my pasta salad.
Salami slices cut into quarters. Eggs, Pasta noodles and Honey Mustard dressing rather than mayonnaise. A bit lighter and more flavorful I think. I have used Vidalia Onion dressing before as well. Both are good! 2 packages of cooked noodles although, I didn’t use it all for my salad. I saved 1/3 of this for my spaghetti sauce I had leftover from the day before.Diced red and yellow bell peppers.A can of medium sized pitted black olives. You can cut whatever cheese you choose! I chose orange rind Munster. I would have preferred Pepper Jack cheese but I decided to play it safe with a mild softer cheese.I cut my yellow and red tomatoes in half for a more delicate bite. Red onions are pretty and the perfect flavor for this complete salad. I take a fork and pull it down the length of the cucumber cover the whole circumference. I cut them into halves. This just makes the salad more appealing. Tossed with salt, pepper, Italian Seasoning, Parsley and Paprika to taste! I kept this, for us. I took this 6- pounds of pasta salad to the event. The salad was a hit and I’m always thrilled to be asked to bring something to a pot luck ❤️. Here is a pic of the Bunny craft we made. Very simple, all pre-cut. We just painted, designed and constructed the bunny. It was so much fun! Now we have a memory at Easter of our lunch with the ladies! Love them and, I love this❤️.

I found this old practice video in the cloud this am. Thought I’d share this heartfelt clip for what it’s worth. I sure had fun trying to cover this. Not easy trying to translate/replicate a song that was played on a 12 string guitar? Anyway, I got a chuckle outta this today.
Rainbows are indeed one of my favorite illusions… They inspire hopefulness! I always wish on rainbows when I see them.
I’ve had an opportunity to take some quiet time to enjoy my kids, grandkids and my hopes for them! I’m still playing cheerleader as Mom’s usually are. Everyone needs a cheerleader or even a whole cheerleading squad! Encouraging the good in people and situations is where I tend to focus. It’s easy to hear, see and speak the bad. I’m trying not to go there in my mind. A personal challenge this week. Im putting my rose colored glasses back on. It is what I want to see in and of this world!
Clarice has become more trusting and loving in her 12 years of life. She used to be terrified of people. Love heals all creatures I think.
My cat Edward has been having a health issue that I’ve been giving him an antibiotic for twice daily. We are at nearly two weeks of medication that seems torturous for him! Makes me sad to have to force feed him meds out of a syringe. He still loves me! He must have a sense that I’m trying to help him?
He must be feeling better. I haven’t seen him climb a tree in a very long time! Britt and my G-son Tom. Hard to believe he’s learning to drive! He’s my oldest G-kid. I had a lovely lunch out with these lovelies! Fun! We had lunch where my daughter Delcee is executive server. It’s fun to see her in action. She’s excellent with customer service. A hard working gal with years of experience… Humble, sweet and kind. Kicking butt in life with her kids being her main focus… I’m so proud of both of these successful gals! They are nice people who love their families wholeheartedly ❤️.Here they are together…I took a few minutes to create this ticky tacky, but colorful centerpiece for my kitchen table. I love a little bit of color, ok a lot of color. I think we need color in our lives since our lives still feel a bit muted.
Speaking of muted, I hope you will unmute your volume settings and hop on over to my YouTube channel.

πΌ Here is the video link that was posted yesterday in honor of Roger Hodgson. A birthday tribute video in which two of my covers were featured. I was one of 3 musicians to have covers of Roger’s music featured in this video. His fan club administrator Ana Lopez created this fan based video. She always does a terrific job of finding and including his fans in her tribute projects!
My Cover contributions were-
