Family Friends Food And A Fun Saturday

I hosted a BBQ with friends, my grown kids and 6 of my 7  G-Kids.

Homemade Cornbread, doctored up baked beans with onion and bacon.

Homemade potato salad. Lots of hard boiled egg and paprika make this delicious and a meal in itself!

This was a yellow cake with whipped vanilla icing. I cut kiwi and strawberry’s , added fresh blueberries. This was a delicious  and refreshing dessert! I will make this again soon!
*We had the most delicious ribs and tri-tip which I didn’t take a pic of as I had to feed the crowd.

We had such a nice evening! I love to entertain!

Although it isn’t Easter for a few weeks  I put out this centerpiece that I made last year…

And this one that I also created last year.

I Believe In Love It's All We've Got

I Believe In Love It’s All We’ve Got

Home sweet home! What a drive! Didn’t arrive home till 2:30 AM. Didn’t hit my bed till almost 4:00 AM. Need this cup of coffee! Had a wonderful vacation and got to see some of my friends from my hometown for lunch yesterday.

It was so great to catch up as we hadn’t really seen them in 10 years!

If you didn’t know you wouldn’t guess tha California has had a drought for years. The hills were lush and green and so beautiful. Coming from the desert, this is such a nice change of scenery!

California Dreaming And Lofty Ideas

Yesterday was a beautiful, bright day making the flowers and vegetation stand out against the ocean views.
This pic has so many shades of blue in it, I just loved this scenery.

Zoe with her Grandparents. We had lunch out with them yesterday. It’s always good to see them!

I even had an opportunity to enjoy this squirrel friend…

We went to Carmel to sight see as well. I saw the most beautiful bakery. This would be my dream if I had funding or backing of any kind… Look at this beautiful bakery!
I just think this is so lovely! I would love to own a beautiful shop like this or a bed and breakfast!

No trip to California would ever be complete without cartwheels on the sand. Zoe does this every time we are at a beach!

Monterey You Are Lovely

My SoundCloud Cover Of Downstream written by Rick Davies of Supertramp This pic is curtesy of Zoe. She took it as we were entering into California on Saturday.  It has been raining here in Cali most of our vacation. We have been able to sight see and walk around on the beach and sightsee. Here are a few of my favorite pics of the beautiful turbulent ocean…
My face was wet from rain drops and the ocean mist…
We thought this little guy only had one leg. When I got too close he put the other leg down, he had been standing on one leg!

Fields of ice plant …

We had been craving fresh fish & chips and chowder…oh yum. This made the trip from Phoenix worth it! So good!

Roadside stands are so cool. This one had many many fresh veggies and fruit for sale…

This is a store that has Turkish imports… Beautiful and very pricey… Maybe in another life I could afford to own a beautiful piece of lighting like this…

This was an interesting experience. The proprietor inside is an interesting and enthusiastic educated man who has a passion for preserving anything and everything Shakespeare. He very exuberantly told of how he became in possession of the artifacts inside his establishment. Interesting fellow with a passion for his cause… He insisted that Zoe get the whole educational experience…

Today we are going to spend some time with the family as it is our last day here!

Please Come Find Me

A note to my readers and followers...
I read my prior posts from time to time and I see that for whatever reason, Google Blogger takes my pictures out of my blog posts! I am sorry to see this and it really ticks me off! I had an Adsense account connected to my blog. I never have made a dime in doing so. I see that they have chosen to go in and delete many of my photos from my blog! Photos of beautiful flowers, and people. Things that are not offensive, branding or otherwise conflicting! I am finished with being censored. I could go into my account and disassociate my blog from Adsense... I may do that! I have decided instead to quit blogging here on Google Blogger.

If you follow me please find me on Wordpress instead!
tynajoymetzner on Wordpress! Wordpress is easier to use. The pictures are prettier and the format is easier!
I'm highly annoyed...Forgive me for ranting...
I have so enjoyed all of you!

Stepping Outside The Yellow Room

Stepping Outside The Yellow Room

This may be my launching point! I ducked in here yesterday because I had heard that this establishment has live music from time to time. I decided to check into this venue to see if I might be able to play here. Trendy with healthy food and even a little store inside. I was greeted by a young friendly gal. It simply asked her if they have live music there. She said it was funny that I should ask because the staff had just had a conversation about initiating an open mic night. I explained that I was just getting out there with my music and that I would be interested in playing there. I handed her my business card and explained that they could research my music on my YouTube & SoundCloud channels. “If you like what you hear and you think that it might be a good fit, give me a call.” She politely took my card and with pleasantry goodbyes, I was off!
I amazed myself with the ease in which I had taken that first step toward fulfilling the music in me. I actually stepped outside the yellow room…I may or may not get a call back but I’m happy to have put myself out there. I actually think that an open mic night would be the perfect place to get my feet wet! Preforming live to see if my music goes over well without the stress of having to fill hours of time! Perfect! This place is maybe a mile from home lol…it’s a start!

Easy Peazy Baked Ziti

Start by making a meat sauce…  I use 1/2 -80/20 hamburger meat, 1/2 ground pork browned with 1/2 large onion diced, 1 large diced shallot,  granulated garlic to taste ,salt and pepper to taste. 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper for a little zip! 1 medium size jar of Prego Sauce ( traditional ). Stir in 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar as a last step to this meat sauce.
Boil your Penne noodles! 1 +1/2 box about 18 oz. of pasta… Drain and incorporate with meat sauce. Fold together…

Spray a large casserole, 13 X9 in. baker with cooking spray. Turn out the meat sauce into the casserole dish.

Fold  16 oz. of ricotta and a tablespoon of parsley flakes together. Drop by tablespoon onto penne/ meat sauce.

Completely cover all of the casserole with shredded mozzarella. A small package will do depending on how much cheese you like!

Bake @ 375 degree preheated oven for 30 min!
Ooh yum! I add a tossed salad and (cheater) packaged baked Texas Toast… This makes a well rounded meal…Enjoy!
